Thanks to Henry Chen, I found myself assisting at Rebekah & Jeremy's beautiful wedding on Saturday, February 13 at Verandas in Manhattan Beach, California. Jenny Liu was the second shooter, and she and Henry provided me with many valuable tips over the course of the evening. Thanks!
Henry Chen was kind enough to let me assist him at Melissa and Adam's Wedding on Friday, February 12 at Inland Hills Church in Chino, California. It was the first wedding I've photographed, and I learned so much. A big thanks to Henry, Melissa, and Adam -- it was such a privilege to have a front-row seat to their special day!
I was in the LA area a couple weekends ago. While I was there, Henry Chen was nice enough to let me assist at two of his weddings (I'll be blogging those soon), and then I attended his first photographers' workshop on Monday, February 15 with six other photogs.
Henry did a great job presenting useful information for all seven of us photographers at our varying levels of experience and skill. The most useful part for me was a mini e-session with recently engaged couple Nathan and Allison, where Henry walked us through his posing and shooting techniques.
A big thanks to Nathan and Allison for putting up with us paparazzi! Jeremy Chou, Marco Vargas, Emma Delf (one of Henry's former clients like myself), and Allan Smailes and crew -- it was nice meeting all of you, and I wish you the best in your future photography endeavors!
Thank you SO much Austin for the wonderful photography! I love your work and you have some really creative angles that I know others will love as well!
So great to have you at the workshop Austin, hope you went home with a few helpful tips/advice :).
Stritch held their annual ISI (International Service Immersion) live/silent/online auction on Thursday, February 11 to raise funds for student summer trips to Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Kenya, Mali, Montana, Morocco, Nicaragua, South Korea, Syria, Tanzania, Vietnam, West Virginia, and Zambia. (Whew, that's a mouthful!)
The theme was "Stritch in Wonderland: A Mad Tea Party", and the students went all out with the costumes and decorations. They even turned the atrium staircase into a giant teapot -- an impressive feat of engineering!
